Sunday
Adult Drop-in Sunday School - 9:15 a.m. year round
Adult’s use the lectionary based Book of Faith study. Lessons are tied to the lectionary, the discussion centers around the readings from the worship service and sermon that day. (no preparation required) [Leader: Kim Boettner 205-995-0824]
Adult Sunday School - 9:15 a.m. year round
         Anyone interested in an ongoing overview study of the whole Bible. [Leader: Ruth Rollinson 256-378-5655]
 
Sunday School – 9:15 a.m. Aug – May
       Classes are available for ages 2 years old through High School. Meets in the Fellowship Hall
 
VA Meals - 2nd & 4th Sundays from 11:30 a.m. to 1p.m.
Provide lunch for families and staff of the Palliative Care Unit at the Veteran's Affairs hospital. [Scheduler: Jennifer Ganesh, 205-685-5393]
Shenanigans – monthly events are scheduled
Younger parents and singles meet to spend time together and enjoy each other’s company [Leaders: Carol Erickson, 205-408-1368 Natasha Yoder, 205-663-1665]
          Monday

Centering Prayer – Mondays 11:00a.m. – 12:00a.m.
     Meet in the Chapel for contemplative prayer and meditation. Led by Ann Jones, and Pastor Kiehl
 

Bridge Group - 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
 Join the Bridge Group every other Monday morning for cards and fellowship in the church library. [Leader: Ruth Rollinson, 256-378-5655]

 

Tuesday
Shepherd's Bells - 7:15 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.
    The Shepherd's Bells handbell choir meets weekly for practice and play at services once or twice a month. [Leader: Bill Moats 205-991-9085]
3D - 5:45 p.m. to 7:15 p.m.
     3D (Diet, Discipline, and Discipleship) meet weekly (except during the summer) for weigh-ins, food, bible study/devotionals, and food related discussions. [Leaders: Ann Jones 205-995-0204 and Lina Moats 205-991-9085]
 Theology on Tap – 7:00p.m. 2nd and 4th Tuesdays
    Held at On Tap, Valleydale Road; this group discusses current events and topics. 
 
 
Wednesday
Sanctuary Choir - 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
    The choir meets weekly for practice and sings at services three to four times per month. [Leader: Bill Moats 205-991-9085]
Emmanuel - 6:15 p.m.
    Provides contemporary worship music at the 10:30 a.m. service on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sundays. The team is open to vocalists and band members with experience. [Leaders: D. Grabeldinger 205-620-6032 and E. Waller]
 
Firehouse Shelter - 4th Wed. of every even month
    Food Ministry for homeless men at the Firehouse Shelter in downtown Birmingham. {Leaders: D. Grabeldinger 205-620-6032 and Jeanne Trammell 205-980-3400]
 
Lydia Circle - 9:30 a.m.
    Women - Gather for congregational support, benevolence, and mutual support in the Fellowship Hall on the first Wednesday of each month. [Leader: Sylvia Almond 205-991-0714]

Women's Bible Study - 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
    Bible study, fellowship, and prayer for women. [Leader: Mary Sype 205-408-9760]
WELCA - Third Thursday evening of each month
    WELCA (Women of the ELCA) is a national Lutheran organization focused on study, support, mission work, ministry, and financial support for Synod programs. [Leader: Catherine Heinezerling 205-988-3032]
Friday
Men's Breakfast Bible Study - 6:00 a.m.
    Meeting the Fellowship Hall to study the Bible and other texts for better spiritual understanding and mutual support. [Leader: Tom Jones 205-408-0297]
Saturday
Rotating Dinners - 3rd Saturday evening/every other month
    Fellowship time and new/prospective members are invited to meet others. (Group does not meet during summer.) [Leader: Elaine Densmore 205-669-6869]
Scrapbooking – 2nd Saturday of month
    Gather in the fellowship Hall for a few hours of uninterrupted time to scrapbook. [Leader: Margie Slaughter 205-980-7295]
